The First Time I Saw Her (w)

So far away
Just a shape
A figure
Coming my way
What do I do
How do I position myself
To be seen by a woman
That I don't really know
How she looks upclose
You see I am near-sighted
so hopefully by the swaying
Of her hips she won't have me
Too shook
10 feet, I position
5 feet, I listen
To the way her soul
Directs its attention to my soul
1 foot after the next
Our eyes connect
A smile - a hello
I watch her walk into the sun
Thinking about what time it was
So I can recapture this moment
Over and over again
Maybe a new friend before a lover
Who knows
Racing is my blood for this woman
Tracing my heart for this woman
Gazing upon a future this woman
And I don't even know her name
What a shame
Promising to myself to
Introduce myself the next time
I see this woman
Where I will not hesitate to express
These feeling and thoughts
With her
Letting her know how she affected me

The First Time I Saw Her
