Ice Before the Tea

From the corner of my immediate
I experienced the lust of your silhouette
you made my head sweat

I wanted to ask of it
then you expressed you had a man in it
which brought out the gentleman's respect
that's why I haven't approached you yet

I think of it
like in a movie
or clip on the internet
you removing your under nets
just so I can work my wonderpets

all ten of them
including the other two
that some stalk me to experience

scene still plays over in my mind
legs arms intertwined
the company name branded on your behind
why am I still here I think sometimes

is it I that desires the attempt
less the emotions expressed
or is it you that knows exactly
what I represent

you once said it yourself
that I am a prostitute or pimp
remember
however it was you that also
kept me out of the cold in December

leaving me with warm feelings
about across the street loving
suite 560 on the floor hugging

late afternoon sun down rubbing
hands to head in-between wanting
me to step up to the plate NY thugging

as I now submit my all to be called Charles
because with my life
up until now I was the only one in Charge

So in-conclusion I will ask you to forgive first, nicely
then continue to understand second, precisely
knowing that you are the honey in the sugar
that I've desired to sip with

Like Water for Chocolate

Many years ago there was a period of time that is often casually called "Medieval." It was a time, so the story tellers tell us, of tiny kingdoms, brave knights and ferocious dragons.

Transportation and travel were both crude and difficult, usually necessitating that each kingdom be as self sufficient and self reliant as possible. So it was very important that within each kingdom all the major crafts and professions of the day were ably represented to insure the survival of the kingdom. In the English language we still see remnants of some occupations in the familiar surnames such as Smith, Carpenter, Miller and Baker to name just a few.

Interestingly enough, beyond the specific title the vocation also took on its own greater personality. This personality preference can also give a broader understanding of the basic complementary style and types necessary to the kingdom's survival, or perhaps any organization's success. Although the specific vocation influenced the name, it was no accident that certain personality types and styles gravitated to certain occupations. The personality of these jobs suited the inclinations of the job holders, and the predecessor to modern day job descriptions was born. The successful matching of a job-holder's personality to the personality and unique requirements of the job was necessary to the kingdom's survival, or perhaps any organization's success. The successful kingdoms more than likely were able to blend the differences into a powerful and formidable entity. With today's diverse workforce, the corporate kingdom that acknowledges and nurtures these personality preferences could become an organization as successful as the Camelot of old.

Even though we now appear to have the freedom to explore many different career alternatives, we still have a medieval vocational personality within each of us. This personality, properly identified and understood, can motivate our success but, if ignored, may set the stage for our ultimate failure. Since times appeared to be simpler then, let us return to the kingdoms of medieval Europe and see what we would have done then, regardless of what our names are now.

Your distinct personality, The Black Knight, might be found in most of the thriving kingdoms of the time. Your overriding goal is to win. You approach each task or situation as a contest to be won strategically and efficiently. Because you can control your feelings, it is not unusual for you to charm, as well as successfully delegate tasks and responsibilities to the more emotional types. You are often concerned with what's in it for you. You seldom involve yourself in activities where you can not foresee a reward for your investment or effort. On the positive side, you can be analytically empathic and logically persuasive. On the negative side, you may be unemotionally manipulative as well as impulsive. Interestingly, your preference is just as applicable in today's corporate kingdoms.

It's Just Not Fair....

At 1:24 P.M. I received a message from a woman that shared with me that she is not the one for me.

At the time I was listening to Mos Def’s The New Danger
Track number 11. The Close Edge, Thinking to myself I heard this song before, less the beats. He featured freestyle of this same song on the Dave Chapelle Show.. Remember him flowing in the car, and Dave Chapelle had that stupid, I am hip look on his face.

And why am I calling him by his first and last name, LOL. Dave, I guess wouldn’t be Dave Chapelle if he’s not referred to as his stage name, or names.

Okay, back to this female…she inspired me to flow to the beat…something sincere and discrete a little tart a little sweet.

From the first time our eyes met
The silhouette of this 8 by 11
I figured it wouldn’t take me too long
To introduce her to the 2 double 0 seven

Keeping the Mack in the Truck
Because for real
I knew that I would have this woman stuck
If I chose to hang out with her
Which was just my luck

Together we laughed initially
Until her iris started hitting me
Interracially
I was less than hating me

Because I knew what I knew
Which turned out to be true
Damn relationship – relationship
Held me back from getting on my groove

I played to win just to lose
Pulling all out the bag
Which only confused the IQ
And the Order of this Lawyer

A Lawyer, Yeap
Almost had a chance to get in
And put that on my resume
After I Tom Sawyered her Huckleberry Finn

I mean I did what I did
Do what I do
Nothing old nothing new
Just multiplied 1 by 2

And the result was a week later
With her kissing me on my lips
In a black club 12/31/06

Now I just knew if I just allow it
I would let my inner demon
Do something conditional about it
So my own judgment would not be clouded

One Red Stripe Two Red Stripe
Three Red Stripe Four
All I am thinking about
Is her panties and knees on the floor

I even got her muthaphuckin door to the car
You see I do be willing to go that far
Sometimes
Just for a bite of that Klondite Bar

This Aint Just Text

I've crossed the t's
dotted the I's
just so I could pass by
On the fly
due to the tears uncried,
instilled the opposite of lullaby's
just music about how to survive
and how to deal with strife
self labeled Llord Trife
which defines 5 percent of my life
the mental destruction
piercing the world like a spike
and that's my word
to the first eye
and that situation on stand by
Reality one way one face one spine
the backbone the gut the rut
the way out hard cold confident
and bold my walk my strut
until the thought hits me next
expressing this real cause

Where Do I End

The things that makes up, the who of him,
from birth to now,
from now to the end,
his smiles are for real
as on his face his brow
a frown hardly bends,
from in front of the earth
he stood looking to the sun,
for the warmth he needed
when it was cold outside,
understanding that the state of the mind
starts with the belief,
of how you allow yourself to feel
comfortable is he who allows him,
as it is him who strives to provide comfort
to the ones He loves the most,
realizing each day as a blessing
to transmit beautiful words within it,
My Bible, My Koran, My words, My story
as (A)ll of (H)is (K)nowledge (M)akes (E)veryone
(L)isten, to a (P)rophet of (H)igher (A)uthority
(R)ighteously (O)rating (D)ivinity,
Equaling Universal Wisdom Born in Him,
as He is and will forever be
a child of GOD named
